After a long gap, fog in Delhi once again made a comeback. The Palam Observatory during the early morning hours today witnessed dense fog wherein the visibility dropped to 50 meters. However, the adjoining areas of the city remained fog-free.
As per Skymet Weather, this sudden appearance of fog can be attributed to scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers that occurred across the northwestern plains of the country. Though these rains escaped Delhi, the humidity levels increased due to rains in the vicinity of the city.
The increased humidity levels and low temperatures in combination with light winds during the night led to fog formation during early morning hours. Along with increased humidity levels, the minimums of Delhi NCR also dropped due to cool winds.

As of now, the Western Disturbance, as well as its induced cyclonic circulation over northeast Rajasthan, has moved away. In the wake of this, the weather of Delhi and NCR is expected to remain dry and sunny.

Due to bright sunshine and clear sky conditions, the day temperatures would start rising. However, the minimums are likely to remain stable for the next 24 hours. Thereafter, a marginal rise in the minimums is also expected.
The good news on cards remains that fog is now not anticipated to make a comeback as wind speed has picked up the pace and at present moderate northwesterly winds are prevailing over the region which would ensure that Delhi would remain fog free. Pollution levels would also be on a lower side.
