Average rainfall for Delhi in the month of October is 14.3 mm. Between October 1 and 16 Delhi has recorded 3.2 mm rain. Low pressure area is over south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coast. It will get weaken and will move as a cyclonic circulation towards central India and subsequently to Western parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Easterly winds from Bay of Bengal and Middle level South westerly winds from Arabian Sea will be responsible for rain activities over North India including Delhi NCR. There may be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of rain on October 17 and there may be moderate showers with isolated intense spells over parts of Delhi.
Weather will start clearing up by the afternoon or evening of October 18. Humid easterly winds a will once again be replaced by dry northerly and North westerly winds. Minimum temperature may increase marginally until October 18.
This upcoming rain spell may surpass the monthly average of Delhi for the month of October. Day temperatures of Delhi will drop by 2-3 degree. Minimum will also head south after October 18 due to commencement of dry and cool northerly winds.
