The first half of December month is over, and the month has begun its journey towards ending. With every passing day, both the daytime highs and night lows are witnessing a declining trend.

Delhi saw the coldest night of the season on December 14 when the maximums went to drop to as low as 19.1 degree Celsius as recorded by the Safdarjung Observatory. On the other hand, the Palam Observatory too recorded the maximums at 18.4 degree Celsius which happens to be the lowest recorded by the city so far in the season.

The minimums recorded by both the observatories were also the season’s lowest as 7.3 and 8 degrees Celsius by Safdarjung and Palam respectively. The temperatures continue to be on the lower side in the last 24 hours as well, though both the temperatures crawled slightly to settle a few notches above.

Yesterday, the maximums and minimums recorded by Safdarjung Observatory were 19.5 and 7.6 degree Celsius respectively. While the mercury levels as recorded by Palam Observatory was 19.9 and 8 degrees Celsius.

The visibility as recorded by Palam was also under 500 meters on early Saturday morning. However, as the day progressed, the visibility levels improved and sunny sky prevailed.

As per the weatherman at Skymet Weather, similar weather condition is expected to rule the capital of the country and its adjoining cities for another 24-48 hours. The minimums are expected to keep rolling in single digits between 7 and 8 degrees Celsius.

Shallow to moderate fog that was observed in parts of Delhi and NCR today is likely to continue. However, the sky is likely to remain clear and rains that are not very regular this month are not anticipated either. The day will remain pleasant and early morning wintry chill is expected to be felt.
