After witnessing good rain and thundershowers on last Monday, weather over Delhi had gone dry and hot once again. However, rainy weather is all set to return over the national capital that too for a longer duration this time.
According to Skymet Weather, a 3-day long rainy spell is in offing for Delhi-NCR. The pre-Monsoon activities will start making appearance over the city from the evening of May 28. Rain and thundershowers are likely to intensify thereafter on May 29 and May 30. The rainy weather could also spill to May 31 but with reduced intensity.
During this spell, we could also witness thunderstorm or dust storms accompanied with high velocity winds.
Upcoming rain activity will be on account of the induced cyclonic circulation that has developed over Punjab and adjoining Pakistan region. Besides this, a trough is also extending from this system up to Bihar across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
In wake of this, levels of humidity have already increased over the region.
True to the characteristics of pre-Monsoon rains, these showers will take place during late afternoon or night hours only. Hence, day will continue to be warm as mercury had already peaked by then. Moreover, high moisture content will further increase the discomfort.
However, these showers will also not let the day temperatures shoot very high. While, mornings and evening will fairy comfortable.
