The scorching summer heat is back again and Delhiites have begun to complain. While the first few days of the month of March were pleasant. Days were pleasant and evenings were slightly balmy giving the perfect spring flavour to the residents.
However, weather gods decided to twist and turn the weather and give the residents of the national capital an early taste of summertime sadness. The month of March has not even ended and the maximum temperature in Palam observatory of Delhi has reached 37.8 degrees (rounding off to 38 degrees).
Not only this, maximums in Safdarjung are also settling at 36.7 degrees (rounding off to 37 degree Celsius). These present maximums happen to be at least five degrees above the normal levels. Other areas including Ridge (38 degrees), Ayanagar (37.2 degrees), and Delhi University (36.4 degrees) have been witnessing above normal maximums.
The prevailing weather conditions can be attributed to the inflow of south southwesterly winds from Pakistan. Due to this, the maximum in Barmer, Rajasthan has also reached to 44.4 degrees, which is the highest in the last five years.
As far as night temperatures in Delhi are concerned, they are also settling at least four notches above the normal levels.
As per weathermen, these weather conditions are likely to persist for the next two to three days in Delhi and temperatures will continue to settle well above the normal levels.
