Delhi recorded the coldest February day in more than a decade. The maximum temperature on Friday dropped to 14.6°C, the lowest in February since 2002. Cold day conditions heightened the romance in the air as the city celebrated Valentine’s Day. The romantic essence of 14th of February was enhanced as it was also the second coldest day of this winter season.
Yesterday was also the second coldest day of February since the last 44 years, the coldest being 2nd of February 2002 when the maximum dropped to 14.3°C. A cloud cover after rain brought down temperatures by 9 degrees from 22.6°C recorded the day before.
Today morning fog in Delhi was dense from 3 am to 7 am. The weather in Delhi will gradually improve and maximum temperature may rise to around 18°C today and reach 21°C in the next 48 hours. The night temperature is likely to come down to around 6°C in another two days. According to Skymet, after the clearance of the Western Disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir and the cyclonic circulation over North India during the next 24 hours, weather in Delhi will become pleasant.
As cold north westerly winds are blowing over Delhi/NCR, the day temperatures will not see a significant rise. It is expected to rise in the next three to four days when the winds will start warming to increase day temperatures across the northwest plains.
