Delhi continues to record above normal temperatures since the last couple of days. All thanks to the change in weather conditions on account of fresh Western Disturbance and its induced cyclonic circulation.

Minimum temperatures are five degrees above the monthly average temperature, while maximum has been settling above the normal levels by one or two degrees.

In wake of the persistent cloud cover and light rain, levels of humidity have increased significantly which has led to rise in night temperatures. Meanwhile, it is the absence of the strong winds that have resulted in the rise of the day temperatures.

On Friday morning, national capital recorded minimum of 15.6°C at Safdarjung Observatory and 15.1°C at Palam Observatory. At the Safdarjung Observatory, the maximum rose to 29.8°C, which is the highest of the season. The maximum is also the highest in February during the last three years.

Normal average day and night temperatures for Delhi during February stand at 23.9°C and 10.4°C, respectively.

The city will continue to witness similar temperature profile for another 24 hours with few spells of light showers on Saturday.

Delhi is likely to witness clear weather conditions Sunday onwards and it is then the temperatures will start crawling back to the normal. But as reiterated by Skymet Weather, winter chill will not return to the state.
