Delhi Rains to visit, summer heat to subside

Delhi rains have been playing hide and seek with the residents of the national capital. For the past two to three days, the city has remained dry with rainfall activity on the lower side. In fact, temperatures are currently settling slightly above the normal levels.

In fact, the maximum in Delhi is around 38 degrees which is close to the normal levels. However, rain gods are expected to bestow some kindness over the residents.

On April 22, many parts of Delhi and the NCR region witnessed rain and thunderstorm activity along with isolated hailstorm as well. This was due to the then prevailing weather systems over the region.

Now, another fresh Western Disturbance is over the Western Himalayan region. Its induced cyclonic circulation has already formed over Central Pakistan, the system is expected to shift towards the east. Due to this, isolated dust storm and thunderstorm activity is expected over Delhi and the NCR region during the next 24 to 48 hours.

One or two moderate spells of rain cannot be ruled out over some parts of the city. However, these pre-Monsoon activities are expected to pick up pace around April 29 and 30.

As the weather conditions are favouarble, the possibility of rain and thunderstorm activity during late afternoon and evening hours cannot be ruled out. On and off thundery build up cannot be ruled out over the area. Temperatures are not expected to rise significantly until the end of the month. We do not expect heatwave to make a comeback.
