As predicted by Skymet Weather, on and off Delhi rains have been making an appearance since the last two days. While Tuesday saw rain and thundershowers along with squally winds lashing the national capital, the wee hours of Friday morning saw a short but intense spell of rains.
These pre-Monsoon weather activities have been instrumental in dropping the maximum temperatures. This has paved way for comfortable weather conditions across the city and adjoining areas of Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad.
In fact, maximum temperatures and minimum temperatures on Friday settled well below the normal average by one to two degrees. Palam Observatory saw day maximums at 38.3°C, while the minimum was at 25.6°C. Similarly, maximum in Safdarjung Observatory was recorded at 37.1°C and minimum at 25.6°C.

According to weathermen, the good news is that harsh summer condition is not likely to make a comeback for at least next 24 hours. With moisture in the atmosphere, isolated thunderstorm or thundershower cannot be ruled out. However, if it occurs, it would be during late night hours.

With rains taking a break, mercury would start rising gradually and may crawl back to normal in the next 24 hours. However, this break would be a brief one and pre-Monsoon activities are likely to make a comeback again by May 7 or 8.
