Delhi NCR saw a pleasant Saturday afternoon as Monsoon rains lashed several parts of the city. Though rains were of varying intensity but were good enough to drop a significant drop in temperatures, paving way for extremely comfortable and pleasant weather.

Palam Observatory recorded 15 mm of rain in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on July 20, while Safdarjung Observatory recorded 9.4 mm. Simultaneously, adjoining areas of Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad too recorded good rainy spells.

The weather has now clear up but chances of some isolated rains and thundershowers are still there for the next two days. However, Delhi would have to wait for any significant activity. According to Skymet Weather, there is still lots of moisture available in the atmosphere that may lead to development of thundery clouds as the temperatures rises, followed by rains. If this happens, it would during the afternoon hours.

These rains can be attributed can be attributed to the oscillation of the Monsoon trough, which was earlier running south of Delhi and now moving north towards the foothills of Himalayas.

As per weathermen, the Monsoon trough is once again expected to move south by July 24. Thus, another round of moderate to heavy rains is expected over Delhi NCR around then.

In wake of this,  maximum temperatures would be around 37 degree Celsius or 38 degree Celsius.
