Delhi weather has been playing hide and seek with rain at some point of time and sunshine on the other. Short spells of rains have been making constant appearances, but all these showers have been short-lived and rainfall activity for longer durations have remained absent from the city.
The main reason as to why these rains have not been a constant affair over Delhi and the NCR region can be attributed to the axis of the Monsoon trough which keeps oscillating from north to south. As this trough has been witnessing a rapid movement wherein rains have not been a constant affair over the national capital.
However, patchy rainfall made some appearance over Delhi on the last day as well, while some parts of Noida recorded light rains during the afternoon, Delhi saw some light rainfall activity during the evening hours at the time of the last rites of the Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Moreover, the intensity of these spells was so short lived and light in nature that it could not get registered in both Safdarjung and Palam observatories.
Weather conditions have also remained warm and humidity has been high over the city. The maximums that are settling between mid and higher 30's approx one or two degrees above the normal would linger on for the next 24 hours as well. As far as rains are concerned, the weather models indicate that Delhi and NCR would continue to see some light and patchy rains. However, being patchy, they would not do many wonders in terms of the temperature profile.
