Delhi has remained dry from last 4-5 days. It was on August 10, that parts of Delhi including the NCR had recorded good spells of rains. Since then, both the Safdarjung and Palam Observatory, Delhi had not witnessed rains.
The adjoining areas such as Noida, Faridabad, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad have also remained rain free. In fact, somewhat similar weather condition is expected to continue in parts of Delhi and NCR and the capital of the country along with the adjoining regions are not expected to witness rains for another 48 hours. However, due to localized cloud development, isolated spells may still occur.

As per Skymet Weather, the last 24 hours Delhi and NCR witnessed dry weather conditions. Both Safdarjung Observatory and Palam Observatory had not recorded any spell of rains. Skymet Weather reiterates that the axis of Monsoon trough is running along the foothills of the Himalayas which is north of Delhi. Moreover, southwesterly and westerly winds are also blowing over the regions.

Hence, Delhi and NCR remained dry and are expected to continue with this dry weather. However, the axis of Monsoon trough is expected to shift towards south around August 19. Thereafter, light rains may occur over Delhi and adjoining regions. Due to these rains, the maximums that are settling close to 35°C are likely to curtail down.
India will be celebrating its 70th Independence Day on August 15 and such dry weather with bright sunshine will prove to be favorable for flag hoisting and kite flying.
