As per Skymet Weather, the reason for the prevalence of dry weather over Delhi including Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad can be attributed to the shift of the trough which was over Punjab and was extending up to East India across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.

This trough has now shifted over to the central parts of the country, running over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. On account of this, dry weather is likely to prevail for the next 2 days. However, available moisture in the atmosphere can lead to local development of thunderclouds which can give isolated light rains over few areas. Though heavy showers are not anticipated. Due to this, the temperature will scale up and weather will be warm, humid and sultry.
However, another fresh spell of rain is anticipated to occur in Delhi and NCR around the night of July 16 which may continue until July 19. Though these rains will not be heavy in nature and Delhi along with the adjoining regions such as Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad may witness light to moderate showers. Though these spells will once again pull the temperature a few notches down.
