Yesterday's on and off downpour proved that the city is all set to welcome Southwest Monsoon with wide arms open. In the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Friday, the Safdarjung Observatory recorded 15.9 mm of rains, during the same time frame, the Palam Observatory witnessed 15 mm of showers.
However, apart from making the Delhi weather pleasant, the rains yesterday also created chaos like water-logging and traffic snarls. Today as well, mainly cloudy sky is what is expected to prevail almost all through the day across Delhi and NCR and spells of rain and thundershowers will also keep on occurring over the city.

The reason for these showers can be attributed to an induced cyclonic circulation which is over Punjab and Haryana. Moreover, the advancement of Southwest Monsoon can also be one of the reasons for these showers over Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram.
However, these showers as compared with yesterday’s downpour will be lesser in intensity. Due to this, a slight rise in temperature as compared with the last few days is anticipated. Moreover, Monsoon also just around the corner may make an onset over the national capital in another 48 hours.
