Delhi rains which had remained on the backseat somewhere in the middle of August picked up pace in the last few days with a few heavy showers making an appearance in between due to which the monthly normal for the national capital was not surpassed in August, but it did reach close to it.

The month of September had also begun on a rainy note with the city witnessing heavy showers along with waterlogging events in parts of Delhi in the morning yesterday. Moreover, even today, heavy rainfall has been lashing the national capital for the past few hours.

Rains had begun from eastern parts including Noida, and further spread to some more parts of the national capital. These rainfall activities are expected to continue throughout the day and even tomorrow.

These rains have been attributed to the oscillation of the axis of the Monsoon trough along with the presence of a Western Disturbance in the Western Himalayas.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, rainfall activities in Delhi and the NCR region inclusive of Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad will continue for today wherein rains will remain on the heavier side only. Thereafter, tomorrow also, some rains can be expected over Delhi-NCR but with reduced intensity. Due to these rains, weather will remain pleasant and maximums will stay on the lower side at least for some time.
