Delhi rains have once again made an appearance after a long time. Until two days ago, the national capital had been witnessing dry weather conditions for at least about ten to twelve days or so. Not only had the weather become completely dry but temperatures had also seen a steep rise.
Maximum temperatures were settling in the mid-30s, which were quite above the normal levels. Minimums on the other hand were settling at their usual levels only.
However, rainfall activity did make a comeback about a day before and moderate rains were witnessed on that day. Even yesterday, light rainfall activity was witnessed over the national capital with Safdarjung Observatory seeing 2 mm of rainfall and Palam observing 1 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
Thus, temperatures are now in the late 20s which is about 5-6 degrees below the normal levels.
Currently, a Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, Cyclone Daye which weakened to quite an extent is presently seen as a well-marked low-pressure area and is expected to intensify into a low pressure and move towards North Rajasthan and adjoining Haryana.
Due to this, Delhi rains are expected to continue with moderate showers occurring over the city tomorrow. Isolated parts may see heavy rains as well. Due to this, weather will remain pleasant over the national capital for at least some time
