Delhi rains to continue for some more time

Delhi rains have been occurring over the national capital in terms of patchy showers on some occasions. Rains occur in some parts of the city, but these showers are generally of very short duration. In fact, the last 24 hours have been rainy enough for the city wherein showers were witnessed during the afternoon hours.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Ayanagar recorded a massive 40 mm of rains, Ridge saw a moderate 16 mm of rains while Safdarjung observatory recorded a light 5.2 mm of rains. Palam on the other hand saw a mere 0.2 mm of rainfall.

Currently, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing close to Delhi. In fact, simultaneously, the Western Disturbance is also passing across Jammu and Kashmir as well as Himachal Pradesh. Hence, the moisture incursion due to the trough and Western Disturbance is affecting Delhi and the NCR region.

Therefore, light to moderate rains will continue over some parts of the national capital. In fact, some parts may see sharp showers as well during the next 24 to 48 hours. Weather conditions, however, will remain warm and humid but conditions may become pleasant at the time of rains.
