Delhi and the NCR region in the initial days of July have seen very intense rains which has taken the total of this month to over 300 mm at 309.8 mm which is way above the monthly normal of 195.8 mm.
However, during the last few days, particularly in the past week only 1 mm of rainfall has been seen.
Now, we expect some rain for Delhi and the NCR region. These showers are expected to be prolonged. There may be isolated showers today as well. By tomorrow light to moderate showers are expected over some regions. By July 26-27, we can expect moderate to heavy showers over the national capital.
Thus, we can expect a week-long activity with rains peaking on July 27-28th. These rains are attributed to a Western Disturbance which will mpve across the mountains. Moreover, the trough that is presently south of Delhi, is likely to oscillate shifting northward. Thus, showers will make an appearance over Delhi NCR.
