Delhi rains may make appearance, no cold wave and cold day conditions for now

Delhi and the NCR region have seen a very cold January with biting cold conditions being observed over the entire national capital so far. Moreover, the city so cold wave conditions along with cold day conditions as well as dense fog making an appearance. Moreover, the temperature dropped to 1.9° which was the lowest in the last decade and more for the month of January.

However, with the approach of a western disturbance, cold wave along with cold day conditions have abated the national capital and the city recorded its minimum at 9.3°C today. In fact, the maximum after over 10 days was observed above the 20° mark resulting in some relief.

Talking about rainfall, Delhi has not seen a single drop of rain for the past three months or so. The situation is all set to change as chances of rain are likely over Delhi and the NCR region during the late night hours and even tomorrow morning, however, these rains will be light in nature and nothing significant is expected.

For the next couple of days, the city may see some relief, however, temperatures may once again witness a drop after the clearance of the Western Disturbance around January 15. However, the cold snap may not last very long as another system is expected to approach the Western Himalayas around January 18, which will arrest further drop.
