Delhi has seen some rains different intensity yesterday with a few areas seeing some short intense spells of rains. Due to these rains, Palam observatory recorded 3 mm of rains while Safdarjung witnessed 2 mm of rainfall.
These rains were while seen during the Monsoon season had some characteristics of Pre Monsoon showers being accompanied with even some thunder.
Now, today and tomorrow we can expect more spells of rains as compared to yesterday. These rains will be slightly more defined and may be seen over more areas than before. Short intense spells of rains are expected during this time.
This will be due to the Monsoon Trough, which is in the process of shifting northward. Not only this, for the next 3-4 days, we may see some short spells of rains of varied intensity.
