Delhi rains make weather pleasant, rainy days ahead

After a wait for almost a week, rains once again arrived over the national capital, Delhi, and its adjoining regions. These rains turned the ongoing sultry weather into pleasant, thereby bringing a huge relief for Delhiites.

In fact, drizzle began to occur over the region since last evening that made the weather enjoyable. In the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Sunday, Delhi’s Safdarjung Observatory recorded 3 mm of rains, meanwhile, 0.2 mm of traces of rains were observed by the Palam Observatory. On the other hand, both Narela and Ridge Observatory recorded 1 mm of light spells respectively.

As per Skymet Weather, the dry northwesterly winds have been replaced by the warm and moist southeasterly winds that are blowing over the region from the Bay of Bengal. Moreover, the axis of the Monsoon trough is also likely to shift south towards Delhi.

In the wake of both these weather systems, we can expect rains to increase in the next three to four days. As the winds would become moist, we expect the humidity to increase over the region, leading to the formation of clouds, thus resulting in rains.

Delhi and its adjoining Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad may witness cloudy skies with one or two spells of moderate rains today that may pick up further by August 7.
