Delhi rains likely today, to ring in cool weather

Delhi weather remained warm and dry for quite some time during the last week. In fact, residents were craving for some good spells of rain to get rid of the warm weather conditions.

Rain gods have finally answered the prayers of the residents and the national capital has been witnessing good rains for the last 24 hours. Not only these as per weathermen, this rainy spell will make a comeback today as well.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Palam observatory recorded a good 9.6 mm of rainfall. Other parts also witnessed moderate rains with Noida recording 15.1 mm of rain, Pusa 7 mm, and Safdarjung 2.4 mm. During the same period, Rohtak also witnessed good rains of 6 mm.

At present a Western Disturbance is affecting the hills of North India due to which an induced cyclonic circulation has developed over Haryana and its adjoining areas. Not only this, a trough is also extending from this system up to West Uttar Pradesh.

Thus, due to the combined effect of the above-mentioned weather features, Delhi and the NCR region is likely to witness some rains. In fact, temperatures are also expected to witness a dip giving residents the feeling of cool weather for at least some time.
