In fact during the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, the Safdarjung observatory recorded a good 14.4 mm of rains.

These rain and associated activities were attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is over Haryana and adjoining areas. A trough has also been extending from this system up to the eastern parts of the country across Delhi. Due to the rains yesterday, the IPL match between the Delhi Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals also suffered and the overs were reduced to 18 per side.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, maximums today will be on the lower side as compared to yesterday. Thus, violent thunderstorms which are usually heat triggered will be slightly on the lesser side. However, there are strong chances of thunderstorm along with rain making an appearance even today as moisture is available in abundance over the region. Adjoining areas of Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad may also witness these weather activities.

As far as the maximums are concerned, they will remain on the lower side today. Tomorrow, another spell of thunderstorm and rain is expected but it will remain on the milder side. After tomorrow, maximum temperature will increase once again resulting in hot weather conditions.
