Now, both the minimum and maximum temperatures are on rise. We expect further rise in day and night temperatures tomorrow as well. According to Skymet Weather, a fresh Western Disturbance would start affecting Western Himalayas by February 13, which would also induce a cyclonic circulation will over North Rajasthan. Also, there will be interaction of humid easterly winds with southwesterly winds leading to formation of confluence zone over the region.
In wake of this, we can expect thunderclouds to develop over the northwestern plains including Delhi NCR. By February 14, we expect scattered rain and thundershower activities with chances of hailstorm over the national capital. However, unlike previous two spells, this spell would not be a prolonged one and intensity of rains would decrease by February 15. But isolated rains cannot be ruled out.
In fact, intensity and spread of hailstorm will also be much less than what we had witnessed on February 7. During that time the humid winds from Arabian Sea were feeding moisture up to the height of 30,000 feet, but this time the depth of southwesterly winds from Arabian Sea would be much less, around 9,000 ft only. This would reduce the intensity of hailstorm up to great extent.
