Delhi Rains forced PM Modi’s aircraft to be diverted to Jaipur Delhi rains lashed the national capital turning the weather the other way round. While the rains were welcomed with open arms by Delhiites, the damage along with it was not appreciated at all.

Rains in Delhi were accompanied by strong winds gusting up to 90 kmph. So much so that several trees were uprooted and a wall post in Chandni Chowk also crumbled damaging several trees standing under it.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Palam observatory in Delhi recorded 8 mm of rain. Safdarjung observatory also received rain at 5 mm during the same period.

Delhi rains also forced several flights to be diverted to Jaipur due to bad weather. In fact, PM Modi who was travelling to Delhi from Devangere in Karnataka was forced to land in Jaipur instead of Delhi due to bad weather.

Modi’s aircraft had to stop over at Jaipur for about two hours before taking off to Delhi. During these two hours, the Prime Minister met Vasundhara Raje, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan inside the aircraft itself.

Around 27 flights were delayed from Delhi as the rains accompanied by strong winds continued to wreak havoc.
