Delhi Rains: First and last spell of February to show up today

Delhi rains likely around February 6, comfortable days until thenDelhi has been witnessing extremely warm days. In fact, it is the third consecutive day when Delhi has recorded maximum temperature above 30-degree mark. It seems that winter has completely abated. The day maximums are soaring above normal by 5°C to 6°C and settling around 29°C to 30°C. Similarly, the minimums have also been hovering in the mid-20s.

The month of February is the rainiest winter month for Delhi. However, this month until now, Delhi has not received any rainfall activity though, the sky turned cloudy many times.

As per Skymet Weather, good news awaits the Delhiites, as the capital is likely to witness short spell of rain and thundershower activity today. In fact, chances of hailstorm cannot be ruled out. Adjoining areas of Delhi such as Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad are also expected to record thundershower and rains.

These rains will be attributed to the Western Disturbances which is prevailing over Afghanistan and adjoining North Pakistan and it's induced cyclonic circulation which is persisting over Northwest Rajasthan and is extending up to 1.4 km in the upper level.

The sky conditions will remain cloudy the entire day. In fact, the high day maximums will witness a drop today, giving some relief. Meanwhile, the minimum temperatures will drop tomorrow by 2°C to 3°C. The weather will remain pleasant during the day and the night will be cool. The rainfall activity is likely to last until today only. Though, the sky will remain partly cloudy after 24 hours also.
