Delhi Rains to visit, summer heat to subside

Delhiites were waiting for the rains to pour over their city desperately after witnessing severe heatwave days. And finally, rain gods blessed the city with some patchy light showers last night. These light rains helped in curtailing down the temperatures marginally.

Pleasant weather during the late evening hours with some cool breeze forced people to step out of their homes and enjoy the drizzles. Skymet Weather has already predicted of some showers accompanied by dust storms showing up in Delhi during the late afternoon and evening hours.

As reiterated by Skymet Weather, these short rainy spells and thunderstorms were due to the Western Disturbance which was moving across Jammu and Kashmir. Moreover, an induced cyclonic circulation was persisting over Pakistan and adjoining North Rajasthan and Punjab.

Thus, the combined effect of all these weather systems resulted in rain and thundershowers along with dust storms over Delhi particularly towards late afternoon or evening hours. Squally winds were also witnessed by the capital of the country.

However, now the Western Disturbance is weakening and an induced cyclonic circulation is still persisting over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. Moreover,a trough is also seen extending from Western parts of Uttar Pradesh near Delhi. In the wake of this, more rains accompanied by dust storms and thunderstorms are likely to show up over the national capital in the next 24 hours.

Hence, people in Delhi are expected to witness few more showers giving them respite from the scorching summer heat in the next 24 hours as well.
