Delhi and the NCR region finally recorded some rain and thundershower activities which were accompanied by dust storm as well as some thunderstorms. Some parts recorded good rains including Pusa where 47.2 mm of rain was recorded. Jafarpur recorded 10 mm of rain, Ayanagar 11 mm, Delhi University 2.5 mm, Safdarjung 2 mm, and Pitampura 2 mm. Gurugram had 5 mm of rain.
Delhi is on the peripherals of the system which has given rains over Haryana, Rajasthan and adjoining areas of Northwest India, thus, it still stands a chance of rain today as well as tomorrow, but it might not be intense in nature. Patchy isolated rains may be seen until the end of the month with breaks in between.
Courtesy of yesterday's spell, temperatures dropped by 5-6 degrees, and maximums are at 36-37 degrees, from the 43 degrees observed before. While we do not expect maximums to have a significant drop any further, the rise is likely to be very marginal and we may get relief from the intense heat for the next few days.
