The month of September began on quite a rainy note with the city witnessing century rainfall events two days in a row. So much so that Delhi has already surpassed its monthly mean and even broken a few rainfall records for the month of September.

In the past few days however, rains have been far and few for the national capital, which has resulted in increase in maximum temperatures which are currently ranging in the mid 30s. However, the next spells of rains are all set to begin tomorrow, and may continue for a while.

These rainfall activities are expected to begin tomorrow with light rainfall activity with showers being on the moderate side on September 22. Otherwise, even after this, rainfall is expected to continue over Delhi and the NCR region through the week.

A low pressure area is over Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh. Another Cyclonic Circulation which had formed in the Bay has moved inland and is over Chhattisgarh region. The system is expected to move westward, thus shifting the Monsoon trough a little north of its position. A feeble Western Disturbance is coming up over Jammu and Kashmir region, which will be instrumental in shifting the trough north of its position. The combined effect of these weather parameters will be seen over Delhi and the NCR region.

With these rainfall activities, temperatures will see a drop and settle in the early 30s.
