Delhi rains commenced during the early morning hours along with a few thundershower activities, as had been reiterated by Skymet Weather. The reason for these rains has been attributed to the active Western Disturbance which is over Jammu and Kashmir, which has also induced a cyclonic circulation over western parts of Rajasthan.
Now, rain intensity and spread of rains will increase over Delhi and the NCR region as the day progresses. In fact, moderate spells of rains with a few heavy showers for a short duration are likely over Delhi and the NCR region. Intense rainfall activities may be seen tonight and even spill over to the early morning hours tomorrow.
On and off rains are likely to continue tomorrow, i.e. on February 7 as well. By February 8, weather will start to clear up as the weather system, i.e. the induced Cyclonic Circulation will move towards Haryana and Punjab. A trough is also extending up to Uttar Pradesh.
Thus, by February 7, rains will also increase over Uttar Pradesh, where rains will pick up pace and become quite intense on February 8, wherein rains will reduce from Delhi and the NCR region.
As of now the pollution levels over most parts of Delhi-NCR lie in severe to very poor category. However, with more rains coming in, pollution levels will drop marginally falling in the moderate to good category. In fact, pollution is not likely to make a comeback anytime soon at least for the next three to four days.
Talking about fog, foggy conditions have already taken a backseat and will remain the same for a couple of days. Talking about the minimum temperatures, they had been settling above normal, will now see a fall by three to four degrees by February 8 and further fall on February 9, becoming below normal.
