Delhiites woke up to another pleasant morning on Saturday, accompanied with drizzling too. Few areas have already reported some light rains in the morning hours. At present, the temperature is being recorded close to 26°C.
As predicted by Skymet Weather, Delhi-NCR is all set to record some heavy rains this weekend. The city has already recorded light rains on Friday as well, wherein Safdurjung Observatory recorded 7.3 mm of rains, followed by Palam Observatory at 4.8 mm.
Intense clouding could be seen engulfing the national capital and adjoining areas of Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad. Rains are likely to follow soon as the mercury rises. Weathermen are predicting moderate to heavy rains with few spells of very heavy rains as well on August 17 as well as August 18.
These rains would be on account on multiple Monsoon systems, keeping weather conditions favorable for another two days. A Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir, which would be traveling across the state. Secondly, the well-marked low-pressure area over central India is now over South Haryana and adjoining Northeast Rajasthan.
This would also pull up the Monsoon trough northwards, which is presently running across South Haryana in close proximity of Delhi. All these systems are moving in tandem and whenever there is such a scenario, the movement of the weather systems become slow, triggering more rains and that too for a prolonged period. Similar situation persists at the moment.
Thus, the weather in Delhi-NCR would remain extremely pleasant for the next 2-3 days.
