National capital was back with nearly cold day conditions yesterday. Overcast sky and moderate breeze raised the chill factor. The maximum temperature of 14.4°C, as recorded at the base station Safdarjung, was ‘feel like’ 10°C due to windy conditions. Also, the sun kept hiding behind the clouds making Delhiites shiver once again, after a gap of nearly one week. Prior to this, the city recorded mercury levels 0f >20°C, continuously for 4 days between 28th Jan and 02ndFeb. Rather, the temperature hovered around 22-23°C, with a highest of 23.4°C on 02ndFeb.
City and almost all its districts registered cold day conditions with mercury ranging between 13°C and 15°C. The lowest, of course, was Narela with 13.3°C, competing with Salwan and Ayanagar at 13.5°C and 13.8°C respectively.

Cyclonic circulation over Haryana and Delhi region has shifted east and soon clearing its impact over the national capital and surrounding areas. Layer of clouds will thin down to make way for the sunshine, albeit mild to start with. Most of the cloud cover will lift by early tonight. Minimum temperature is expected to dip again and range between 7-8°C for the next 4 days. Days are likely to become pleasantly warm breaching the threshold of 20°C, yet again, till 09thFeb.
A short spell of rain is likely again on 09thFeb, lasting just for a day. It is going to look bright again from 10thFeb. Strong breeze will prevail between 10th and 12th Feb increasing the chill factor. No more rain is expected ( except on 09thFeb),till 15thFeb 2022. February is the rainiest wintry month for Delhi with a normal of 22.1mm rainfall. The city has observed mere 1.6mm rainfall in the opening wet phase of February.
