Delhi rain saga to continue, pleasant weather ahead

Delhi rains have made a comeback once again and have been lashing the city with light to moderate rains. Some parts have also seen a few sharp showers as well. Sky conditions have become cloudy since yesterday and the sun is shying away from making an appearance over the national capital. The adjoining areas of Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad have also seen rainfall activity.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Narela recorded a whopping 53 mm of rainfall, Palam observatory saw 9.3 mm of rains, Ridge recorded 8.8 mm of rain, while Safdarjung witnessed light rainfall to the tune of 4.6 mm.

These rainfall activities can be attributed to the presence of a low pressure area over South Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas. The axis of the Monsoon trough is also running across Meerut which has enhanced the rainfall. This low pressure area is expected to persist over the region for some time.

Today also, rains have been lashing the national capital and its adjoining NCR areas since the early morning hours. Sky conditions have been cloudy to overcast and will continue to remain so for some more time. In fact, some parts have also been watrelogged due to continuous rains in Noida and many other parts of Delhi.

Rains will continue through the day with breaks in between resulting in pleasant weather conditions during the afternoon. Temperatures which are already running below the normal level may see further drop.

In fact, this rainy spell is likely to continue tomorrow as well, however, intensity will reduce to quite an extent.
