The northwestern plains across the country are currently witnessing dry weather conditions. The dry northwesterly winds are covering more and more areas with every passing day. The conditions are becoming favorable for the withdrawal of Monsoon from most parts of northwest plains.

As per Skymet Weather, dryness will increase more over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan. The weather across these states during the day will be warm and uncomfortable. Haze will increase more during the morning hours.
The sky conditions will be mainly sunny and clear. At present, stubble burning is being practiced in Punjab and Haryana which leads to an immense release of toxic pollutants in the air. Due to stubble burning and the northwesterly winds prevailing across the northwestern plains, the pollution levels will increase across Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi and NCR even before Diwali.

The maximum day temperatures are reaching up to the 40°C mark at a few places in Rajasthan and relief is not in the forecast as of now. Meanwhile, the maximum temperatures in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh is also expected to settle around mid-30's and minimums will remain in lower 20's. As on October 13, all the states in northwest India are largely rain deficient due to the prevalence of dry weather conditions.
