Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh to see more good rains today

March 6, 2020 5:05 PM |

Northwest India

Many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi and its adjoining areas have been recording fairly widespread rain and thundershowers lately.

During the last 24 hours, heavy hailstorm activities were also observed in Jaipur. Similarly, a few parts of Haryana and Northwest Uttar Pradesh observed isolated hailstorm activities.

The reason for these weather activities can be attributed to the trough that was extending from Punjab to West Uttar Pradesh across Haryana.

Talking about the current weather system, A Western Disturbance is lying over the Ladakh region. And, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over Punjab and adjoining parts of Haryana. Also, a trough is extending up to Bihar across Uttar Pradesh.

In the wake of the above-mentioned weather systems, we expect these on and off rain and thunderstorm activities to continue by the late-night hours of today in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.

Due to these ongoing rainfall activities, we expect the maximums to drop by five to six degrees at some places. A few parts of Punjab and Haryana may also observe the maximums settling somewhere below 20 degrees Celsius.

By March 7, the weather system will further shift eastwards. Due to this, rain and thundershower activities from the western parts of Punjab, Haryana and Northwest Rajasthan will start reducing from tomorrow onwards.

Although the weather activity will start reducing at some places, Delhi and its adjoining areas may continue to receive isolated rains. During the same episode, a few parts of West and Central Uttar Pradesh may witness heavy rain and thundershower activities.

From March 8, the weather will start clearing up from entire Northwest India further leading the maximums to rise. However, the sky may remain partly cloudy at a few places.
