Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana to witness revival of monsoon rains

July 3, 2022 10:39 AM | Skymet Weather Team

The weather of the Northern Plains has gone almost dry for the last two days. Barring a few scattered showers, the overall intensity of rain has decreased. The reason for decreased rain activities can be attributed to the southward shifting of the axis of the monsoon trough.

A Low Pressure area may develop over Odisha coast by tomorrow July 4th and will move in westerly direction across Central India. Easterly and South easterly winds are expected to intensify over Northern Plains leading to revival of monsoon rains.

Rain intensity may increase over Northern Plains of Delhi, parts of Punjab and Haryana from July 5th. There may be few heavy spells on July 6th. We do not expect continuous and downpour over northern plains. However, there may be widespread rainfall between July 5th and 7th. The weather will not go completely dry thereafter. Isolated to scattered rain with partly cloudy to cloudy skies to continue.

Temperatures of Northern Plains may increase during next 48 hours. Thereafter there will be a drop of 3-4 degrees due to upcoming rains.
