Delhi Pollution to increase, dry weather to prevail

November 25, 2017 5:03 PM |

Delhi winters

As per Skymet Weather, dry and cold northwesterly winds are blowing over most parts of northwestern plains including Delhi and neighbouring areas such as Noida, Faridabad, Gurugram and Ghaziabad from the last one week. These moderate winds are not allowing fog to form and the pollution levels are also under control.

We expect these winds to blow over the regions for another two to three days but wind speed may reduce marginally. As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, a Western Disturbance is expected to approach the Western Himalayas around November 28. In wake of this weather system, westerly winds will be replaced by southwesterly winds leading to an increase in moisture levels.

Moreover, the wind speed will also reduce therefore we expect pollution levels to increase once again over Delhi and adjoining areas by November 29.  During the last 24 hours, both day and night temperatures have also increased by one to two degrees over many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.

Cold wave conditions were prevailing over parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh. Due to the marginal increase in temperatures during the last 24 hours areas affected by cold wave have reduced in number. Now, the cold wave conditions will continue over isolated places in Rajasthan and parts of West Uttar Pradesh only.
