Today, Delhi is seeing a marginal improvement in the pollution levels due to the morning rains. However, as the rains were observed only at isolated places, no significant improvement was observed as such. Many places are still recording pollution in ‘poor’ to ‘severe’ category. However, we expect pollution to soon clear up by today evening or tonight as more rains are ahead for Delhi.
Now in wake of the Western Disturbance over northern hills and its induced cyclonic circulation over parts of Northwest India, rains are likely to commence over the region and we expect the air quality index to improve even more by today evening. Following the rainy spell of today, we do not expect pollution to make a comeback anytime soon. Air quality is expected to remain good in the next two to three days.
Delhi pollution manages to be the talk of the town every now and then. The city once even managed to make it to the list of the topmost polluted city in the World. The last few months have seen soaring pollution levels for quite some time. Yesterday as well the pollution was in Severe category at many places. However, there was a chance of slight improvement in the running numbers thanks to the ongoing rains.
