Southeasterly winds have been blowing over the capital region Delhi and it’s adjoining areas from almost two days. These moist winds led to increased levels of pollution, which was quite prevalent on Monday morning. Besides this, people witnessed a fall in visibility as well.
As per Skymet Weather, the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir will soon move away. Thus, the north westerlies will once again knock the doors which might help in bringing down the levels of pollution. As of now, the wind speed has been around 10-15 km/hr which is why most of the places witnessed pollution level in 'very poor' to 'poor' category.
As per experts, if these dry and cold winds continue to blow continuously for coming 2-3 days, then we might expect a fall in pollution level in coming days.
In last 2-3 days, a slight rise in day and night temperatures were observed, the temperatures might fall once the north-westerlies reach the plains.
Monday's maximum temperature was recorded somewhere around 29 degree-Celsius. However, minimum temperature has been recorded around 15 degree-Celsius. Diurnal variation is very much evident as of now. It is expected that by tomorrow there can be a slight drop in temperatures because of the winds. Weather will once again become dry and cool with no rainfall in the coming week.
