National capital territory, Delhi along with NCR has been under the tight grip of severe bad air. We don’t see any kind of relief in the coming days as well. On Tuesday morning, light winds were blowing from the easterly direction.
Many parts of Delhi-NCR like Mayur Vihar Phase 3, Patparganj, Anand Vihar and patches of Noida witnessed light rains and drizzle. However, the intensity of rains was so less that they failed to wash away the pollutants.
As per the current scenario, Western Disturbance is affecting the western parts of Himalayas and its induced Cyclonic Circulation is also persisting over North Rajasthan and adjoining parts of South Punjab and Haryana. As per Skymet, this system won’t allow setting up of dry northwesterly winds for the coming two days.
Post that, i.e. by November 15, the Western Disturbance will move eastwards, and steady flow of dry and northwesterly winds would commence. This weather activity is expected to continue for two to three days at a stretch. During that time some relief can be foreseen.
These winds are expected to blow away the pollutants and we can then get to breathe some fresh air. Also, by then the pollution category might shift its base from “severe” to “very poor” or “poor” category.
