Delhi Pollution had been wreaking havoc over the national capital due to which Delhiites were finding it difficult to even breathe properly. Air quality index levels were off the charts, and with Diwali not too far away, it seemed like Delhiites would not be able to breathe even slightly less polluted air for a really long time.
However, in the last 24 hours the level of pollution has decreased slightly. Not only this, if you stepped out of the house today, you will be able to see that the sky conditions have also seen some kind of improvement.
Talking about the air quality index in Delhi on Sunday, Delhi saw the air quality drop down to 171 while Faridabad was also not too bad at 191, Noida at 154, Ghaziabad 142, Greater Noida 173. Gurugram was the only city in Delhi NCR with air quality above the two hundred mark at 206.
The reason for improvement in the pollution levels is the change in the pattern of the wind, the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has become weak now, due to its movement towards the east, the northwesterly winds are now blowing Delhi, along with this, the speed of wind has also increased.
In the coming 24-48 hours, pollution levels will remain the same and the air quality will only decrease after Diwali celebrations.
