Delhi observes coldest day and night of season, winter chill to escalate further

Delhi Winters are gradually winters have been creeping their way in gradually. As the days are passing by, temperatures, both minimums and maximums, have been seeing new lows. One such day was yesterday, when the maximum plunged way less than it usually does.

Yesterday, Safdarjung observatory recorded its maximum at 19.1 degree Celsius, which happens to be the lowest of the season. Meanwhile, maximums dwindled at the Palam observatory as they settled at 18.4 degree Celsius.

However, that was not it, the nights also ended up becoming much colder than they usually are. Thus, today, the minimum temperature dropped at a mere 7.3 degree Celsius, which is also the lowest this season. The minimum was slightly more at Palam but continued to settle in single digit at 8 degrees Celsius.

Along with this, like the day before, the visibility did drop during the night with slight obscurity in the morning. However, there were improved visibility as the morning progressed.

Usually, Delhi does witness variation in terms of maximum temperatures during this time of the year as they settle anywhere between 15 degrees and early 20s. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature begins to settle in single digit during the first half of December, and thereafter, drops to around 5 to 6 degrees around mid of the month.

Now, as per weathermen, both minimum as well as maximum temperatures will witness a dip further. The nip and chill in the air during the day and night time will last for another 48 hours. The maximums are expected to settle below the 20-degree mark while the minimums may range between 5 and 6 degrees.
