Delhi and its adjoining regions are at present witnessing short spell of Monsoon showers. Delhiites have laid their eye for that typical Monsoon showers that will bring pleasant and breezy weather across the region, swapping the dry and humid weather situation that are creating uneasiness.

However, in the past 24 hours, the Safdarjung observatory recorded light rains to the tune of 5 mm. During the same time frame, the Palam observatory did not record any rainfall.
So far in the month of July, the Safdurjung observatory has recorded a total of 89.4 mm. The monthly mean average rainfall for the region stands at 187.3 mm.
As far as the Palam Observatory is concerned, the monthly target stands at 174.4 mm, while the area has received 74.3 mm of rains up till now.

The reason for these rains can be attributed to highly localized phenomenon that led to cloud development. These rains will remain light in nature, as of now not much intensification is foreseen.
Delhi along with the neighboring regions of Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad will continue to see dry and humid weather, with short spell of rains. Moreover, not much change in temperature profile is anticipated. The maximum temperature will continue to settle at 36-37°C, while minimums will stand at 28-29°C.
