Delhi-NCR is likely to witness thunderstorm and dust storm activity on Wednesday afternoon. Though chances are rare but drizzling at few pockets is also a possibility.

Squally winds of speed 40 kmph to 50 kmph is expected to blow over the national capital region.

However, significant or noticeable rain is not expected over the city.

According to Skymet Weather, an induced cyclonic circulation is marked over Northeast Rajasthan and a feeble trough is extending from this system across South of Delhi.

In wake of this weather system, we have seen development of thundery clouds. With this, we can expect possibility of light dust storm or thunderstorm activities over few parts of Delhi-NCR by late afternoon or evening.

The cloud cover has given slight relief from the ongoing hot weather conditions. Maximum temperatures have seen a drop of 2-3 degrees across Delhi-NCR after 2:00 pm.

At 2:30 pm, Delhi recorded day maximum of 39°C, in comparison to 41°C yesterday.

Skymet weather predicts that weather is likely to clear up by tomorrow but sky will remain partly cloudy. Day temperatures will start rising once again on Thursday.

Delhi has been witnessing rising trend once again for the last few days. On Tuesday, Safdarjung Observatory had recorded day temperature at 40.3°C, while Palam Observatory observed 42.2°C.
