Delhi Pollution 1 Article

Talking about previous days, Delhi experienced pretty good weather. Jumping to present situation, continuous change in wind directions have resulted in increased levels of pollution in capital region, Delhi- NCR. According to Skymet Weather, a Cyclonic Circulation is seen over Central Pakistan and a trough will extend from this till South of Delhi. Therefore, isolated thunderstorms or thundershower activity will be experienced in couple of days. This weather system will lead to increased levels of humidity.

So, the prevailing dust in the atmosphere combined with humidity, will lead to increase in pollution level. Thus, mornings and evenings will be hazy.

Pollution will continue to persist for the next few days. With the presence of trough, Delhi and NCR might experience some thunder activities around October 9 and 10. The rains will be experienced in some parts only. No major relief in day temperatures is expected.

The Deep Depression which was over Southeast and adjoining East-central Arabian Sea has taken a west-northwest track. This has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm Luban and lies over West central Arabian Sea near Latitude 12.3° N and Longitude 62.4°E, about 1040 km east southeast of Salalah (Oman). Moreover, these Southwesterly winds from Arabian Sea will increase the levels of moisture in Delhi- NCR leading to increased levels of humidity. This will eventually lead to formation of haze.

In addition to this, successive western disturbances will keep influencing Central Pakistan which will result in thunder activities in Delhi-NCR. This will not help in thinning out the pollution levels in the state.

Adding on to this, when stubble farming will start in Punjab and Haryana, the northwesterly winds will bring in that smoke along thus causing more pollution. Asthma patients need to take very good care of themselves. Try not to go out when pollution level is at its peak as the air quality will be really poor then.
