In wake of this, Delhi is presently witnessing excess Monsoon rainfall by 2%.

According to Skymet Weather, these rains were on account of the oscillation of axis of Monsoon trough, which was running close to Delhi-NCR.

Further, intensity of rains has now reduced significantly over the city as the trough has now shifted closer to the foothills of Himalayas.

According to Skymet Weather, rains will now take a back seat for the next 48 hours. However, Monsoon rains will make a comeback over Delhi by July 21 and will continue for the next couple of days.

Besides this, the prolonged spell of rain has also led to a drop in both the maximum and minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees. But the increased levels of humidity have led to high discomfort.
