Delhi has been witnessing rains in patches this Monsoon season. As per Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon trough is running across Jalore, Ratlam, the center of well marked low-pressure area over southwest Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Visakhapatnam and will move towards Bay of Bengal. As it is running south Of Delhi, therefore, humid south easterly winds are over Delhi and NCR.

Now we expect scattered light Monsoon showers for a short duration to occur over many parts of Delhi and NCR today. Thereafter we expect rain intensity to increase over Delhi and neighbouring regions. However, due to local cloud build up over Delhi isolated light rains cannot be ruled out.
By August 31, the Low-Pressure area over Gujarat region will fizzle out and the western arm of the Axis of Monsoon trough will once again move towards Delhi and the foothills of Himalayas and the southerly and south westerly winds will also blow over the region. Therefore we expect good spells of rain over Delhi and NCR from August 31 till September 2. At present, the weather has become pleasant across the region due to patchy rains and the temperatures are also normal.
