Delhi may receive light rain, pleasant days ahead

As reiterated by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, light showers might pay a visit to Delhi on October 14 and 15. According to Skymet, wind pattern over the national capital has already changed from dry northwesterlies to moist southeasterlies.

On October 12, day temperature was recorded at 35.5°C, which was two degrees above normal. While, night temperature settled at 25°C, five degrees above normal.

As per Skymet, change in low-level winds over Delhi is due to the passage of fresh Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir as an upper air system. This will also interact with cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal region.

The confluence of northwesterly winds with southeasterly winds could result in some weather activity that will be mostly confined to Uttarakhand, foothills of Punjab and some parts of West and Central Uttar Pradesh. Delhi falls in the periphery of the system and thus will only see some light passing showers.

Skymet predicts, cloudy to partly cloudy weather for at least next two days. As the systems clear away, weather will go back to being sunny, however, more pleasant days can be expected further.
