Today morning, moderate fog has been observed over Delhi and NCR area. Some isolated pockets also experienced dense fog with IGI and Palam recording the worst visibility at 700m only.

At present, the Western Disturbance is moving away across East Jammu and Kashmir. Also, the Cyclonic Circulation has now moved away from North Rajasthan and now lying over central parts of Uttar Pradesh. Northwest dry and cold winds are now prevailing over the area.

In the next 24 hours, a drop in night temperatures is likely while maximums might rise marginally. Pollution levels will continue to remain in poor category however a marginal improvement is ahead due to the prevalence of strong winds.

A mainly dry weather prevailed over Delhi NCR during the last 24 hours. Winds blew over the region with a moderate speed. While the winds led to a drop in temperatures by two to three degrees, these also prevented fog to settle on the ground. Due to this wind, fog which started yesterday evening couldn’t settle on the ground, remaining in the lower levels, covering most parts of the sky and extending up to NCR area.

Today, minimums recorded over Palam was 12.8°C and Safdarjung recorded 13.0°C. Later in the afternoon, maximums could settle around 20 degrees. Rain and thundershower is again forecast over the area on February 18 as new systems from Northwest are approaching the region by tomorrow.
