During the last two days, strong surface winds have been blowing over the city. Due to the prevalence of these strong winds, the pollution level has improved and come down to ‘satisfactory’ level over most places of Delhi and surrounding regions. The central parts of Delhi experienced ‘moderate’ level of pollution at one or two places.

During the last 24 hours, the weather remained mainly dry with a rise in the day temperatures. The day remained mainly sunny with a clear sky. The day temperatures remained between 20 to 21 degrees while night temperatures remained between 4.8 to 6 degrees.

Now, the wind speed will come down, as another Western Disturbance is soon going to approach the Himalayan region. Hence, the pollution level will once again start picking up January 25 onward.

Presently, the sky conditions are mainly clear over the city, but clouds will start appearing any time soon. Also, the night temperatures are likely to increase during the next two to three days. As per forecasters at Skymet, a spell of rain and thundershower would be affecting Delhi and NCR between 27 to 29 January.

Talking about the forecast for Republic Day, the morning will be cold and moderately foggy. As the day progresses, a bright sunny day is expected along with a partly cloudy sky. Surface winds will remain light and variable throughout the day. The day temperatures are expected to remain between 21 to 22 degrees while night temperatures will remain between 6 to 7 degrees.

Further, the night temperatures would increase with an increase in clouding. The day temperatures would decrease significantly between January 27 to 29.
